Attendance Policy & Expectations

Attention Parents, Guardians, Family Members & Students:

Attendance Policies For All Scotts A+ Elementary Students – We Need Every Child To Come To School Every Day, All Day & On Time!

Regular attendance to school by every student is mandatorySchool hours for students are from 7:25 AM – 2:25 PM daily.  The state of North Carolina requires that every school aged child attend school.  Parents or legal guardians have the responsibility for ensuring that students attend and remain at school daily.  Violation of this law can ultimately result in criminal action in District and/or Juvenile Court under the NC School Compulsory Attendance Law (G.S. 115c-378)

Please support your child’s success in school by making sure that he/she attends school on a regular basis.  When a student must miss school, a written excuse, signed by a parent/guardian or a medical doctor, must be presented to the school upon the child’s return to class. If a note is not presented with two (2) days, the absence(s) will be coded as unexcused.  Excessive unexcused absences during this school year (more than 10) could result in your case being referred to the local District Attorney for prosecution.

We will be happy to assist you any way possible to help improve attendance issues.  Please call Principal Hall or School Counselor Amanda Brookshire or contact your child's teacher at 704-585-6526 for further assistance in these and all matters regarding your child’s success at our school.
